I am a self-taught artist, working mainly with graphite pencils. I draw for my own pleasure, and I also accept commissions.
I enjoyed drawing from an early age and spent many hours with pencils and paper. As I got older academic studies, and then the need to earn a living, meant I put drawing aside for many years.
In 2004, my husband and I made a major life change, taking early retirement and emigrating to Namibia. I had begun dabbling in art again before this, and now I had time to concentrate and develop my drawing skills.
I mainly drew animals and, as my drawings improved, I completed several animal portrait commissions. Later, I was fortunate to have a solo exhibition of my drawings of Namibian flora and fauna.
After ten years, we returned to England. We now live on a narrowboat, travelling the UK’s canal network. I continue to draw as much as I can.
